Step Two tells us The Divine can heal us, and it is healing we need. Healing comes in many ways, but our need to be healed from the hurts, disappointments, and abuses of religion comes mainly in the form of a call for more love, forgiveness, and recognition. A recognition that we are in the same boat, traveling to the same destination, and everyone on board is also trying to make their way Home. It doesn’t matter what country they come from or what religious background they have, only that we are headed Home together.
When healing comes to one of us, the healing improves everyone’s health. Love and forgiveness touch all of our lives and draw us closer to Home. It is as if all hands are on deck and are working together towards one goal. When forgiveness and love are withheld, our lives begin to stray off course almost as if the ship has no rudder. When forgiveness and love work in harmony, nothing else matters. We are healed, and we carry healing with us wherever we go. We are spiritual beings, and Spirit is the wind that moves us, sustains us, and brings us into Safe harbor.
