Transform: By changing my thoughts, I transform my life. I choose to change my thoughts concerning past experiences that hold me in pain. I choose to see them from a higher perspective.

Never underestimate the power of your thoughts. Our thoughts create our reality, positive or negative. Some religions use the power of thoughts against their flock. By promising negative, even disastrous consequences to those who step outside of “the faith,” they hold their members through fear and intimidation. Negative thoughts need to be transformed in order to have spiritual freedom, joy, and abundant love.

How do I change my thoughts about past experiences and see them from a higher perspective? The answers vary and don’t always work the same for each individual, but the goal is the same — to see things as The Divine sees them. Even those who abuse us in the name of religion are often not aware of what they are doing, and they are also often the ones in the most need of new sight. Some are just doing their job the way it was taught to them and the way it has been handed down for centuries. For them to see things from a different perspective, especially a higher perspective, is nearly impossible because they see no flaws in their belief system.

We extend love and grace, and we try our best to withhold judgment, because judgment and love oppose one another. For many of us, our best recourse is to release them from our lives and turn them over to The Divine with as little ill will and resentment as we can achieve. In time, and with Divine help, we will be able to release all resentment and all grievances.
