STONE NINE CONTINUED
Transform: By changing my thoughts, I transform my life. I choose to change my thoughts concerning past experiences that hold me in pain. I choose to see them from a higher perspective. Instruction: See as The Divine sees. Perhaps we see The Divine as outside of our being and looking down on us from somewhere above. For the time being, let’s consider this perspective and set aside the idea that The Divine is in and through all of creation and so must be a part of us, therefore within us. That concept may or may not resonate with the reader, but the idea of God, or Higher Power, being above and looking down is probably a universal concept that, although it might not be held by all, is probably familiar to most. What does The Divine “see” when He/She looks down upon us? In other words, what is The Divine perspective? Stone Nine encourages us to see our thoughts from a higher perspective, so it behooves us to discover, if possible, what that would look like. If The Divine sees with eyes the way we see, and assuming The Divine is high above us, He/She would see people scurrying around doing their work in much the say way we would see ants working to store food. This casual observation does not take into account the billions of thoughts that go through the collective thinking of the world; it only takes into account the physical aspect of our being. If we dig deeper and get into our thoughts, The Divine would see a plethora of thoughts that constantly bombard each individual, how emotions follow the thoughts we think, and finally how our behavior follows our emotions. As the thoughts change, so do the emotions. The Divine would readily recognize that if we wanted to rid ourselves of unwanted emotion, and often the unwanted behavior that accompanies it, all we have to do is change our thoughts to something that will bring the emotions we prefer and the ensuing behaviors we want. In addition, The Divine would also realize that if we could see our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors from The Divine’s perspective, we would be able to line our thoughts in ways so that we can live in peace, joy, and happiness. Today’s Assignment is to recognize the power of your thoughts. See how a simple change in perspective can affect your mood. Notice how positive, grateful, and loving thoughts can help you live in more harmony with the world, yourself, and other.
